Be Emotionally Involved

Goals 2008 Monthly eTips
February

February 14 is a day that we set aside to celebrate the one we love. Think back to the beginning … your courtship. You were working towards a goal (whether you thought of it that way or not). You were focused and you were emotionally involved with the success of that goal.

Let’s relate this emotional involvement to any of your goals for this year. What is the most difficult thing about being dedicated and tenacious when working towards a significant goal? It’s the effort it takes and the imagination to keep looking beyond what is currently in front of you. AHHHHH…

It is effort … if what is in front of you may be:

  • That you have no one to share your goals and dreams with. It is hard to keep imagining that surrounding you are people who love, cherish and uplift you.

  • There is no money coming in the door. It’s hard to keep imagining you are already rich in cash flow.

  • You are 30 pounds overweight. It’s hard to keep imagining that you are living, eating and having fun at your ideal weight.

This has been said many times before…and it is still crucial to your success. Your mind works in pictures, and you are propelled to action by emotion.

This is scientific fact. It is a law of nature and our physiology. You have the ability to feed your brain exactly the pictures and emotions you want to create - - which will result in those things being created in your life.

Are you harnessing the positive or the negative? Whatever pictures your brain sees - of lack, of failure, of rejection – can be created. Whatever emotions you feel - depression, fear, distrust – can be created in accordance with these laws.

Your solution is: Feed your brain – frequently - with exciting pictures of what you want to create and that evokes the emotions you need to motivate yourself to act. Didn’t you feed your brain with pictures of your sweetheart when you were putting forth the effort to win their heart? Get emotionally involved with your goals this year.

Feed your brain when you wake up. What picture is taped to your bathroom mirror? Feed your brain at work. What picture is taped to your computer? What emotions are you feeling when you look at your dream board? Be propelled to action!

You are what you believe.  BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!
